Own an authentic and hand-colored copy of this historic art piece

Depicted here by Jan Luyken, The Brewer pours liquid into a barrel where it will sit for weeks or months. In the darkness, it ferments and changes and grows another dimension. It seems like alchemy – or even magic – but no, just a time-honored tradition. The actual magic happens when it’s poured into a stein, and strangers go, “Cheers!”

The Brewer is a single part of Jan Luyken’s sprawling masterwork, The Mirror of Human Activities (Spiegel van het Menselyk Bedryf). Here, the engraving has been reproduced in all its splendor as a limited edition piece for you to display proudly in your home or office. In painstakingly recreating this vision from the Golden Age of Dutch fine art, we used only the finest materials and historically accurate techniques.
