Jan Luyken’s The Gardner has always believed that good things come to those who wait and nothing worthwhile happens instantaneously. Like waiting for a seed to germinate or a tree to bear fruit, growth and maturity take time – and care. By planting in the spring and tending in the summer, you will give yourself reason to look forward to the fall.

The Gardner is a single part of Jan Luyken’s sprawling masterwork, The Mirror of Human Activities (Spiegel van het Menselyk Bedryf). Here, the engraving has been reproduced in all its splendor as a limited edition print for you to display proudly in your home or office. In painstakingly recreating this vision from the Golden Age of Dutch fine art, we used only the finest materials and historically accurate techniques.

“A Garden with trees and green
It’s a lovely sight to be seen”
