Take a deep breath and push the air out of your lungs. The molten glass expands into a bubble – more delicate than a soap bubble. Jan Luyken’s The Glass Blower imbues the glass with a unique beauty. When we handle the finished piece, we must handle it with care. Indeed, that’s what makes it beautiful. Would glass be so intriguing to us if it were not so fragile?
The Glass Blower is a single part of Jan Luyken’s sprawling masterwork, The Mirror of Human Activities (Spiegel van het Menselyk Bedryf). Here, the engraving has been reproduced in all its splendor as a limited edition print for you to display proudly in your home or office. In painstakingly recreating this vision from the Golden Age of Dutch fine art, we used only the finest materials and historically accurate techniques.
Our fine art etchings use exclusive handmade paper crafted using techniques dating back to the 14th Century, passed down through generations by Indian artisans. Dried in the sun, this paper is a timeless, creative alternative to ordinary paper.
